Why do I need this course?
The free website builder is quite intuitive. However, after training hundreds of small business owners on creating their sites, I know that you will hit roadblocks that will have you banging your head against the wall and that will stop you from finishing the job. In addition, you'll get valuable information on optimizing your website so it gets found and ranked by the search engines. That kind of invaluable information is just not available in any website builder.

What's the catch with this Weebly website builder?
I know everyone is skeptical, but really there are no catches, no strings attached and no obligation. Keep your credit card in your wallet. Your money's not wanted here. Weebly makes its money by selling a Pro version of the service and by selling domains. You don't have to purchase either from Weebly.

Do I have to upgrade?
You don't have to do anything. The standard service will suit 95% of users. You can check out the Weebly site and see if the Pro version might make sense for you. It removes the Weebly link at the bottom of the pages and gives you access to some additional cool features. It's only $2.99 per month on a two year term. I hope that's not a big stretch for you. 

Do I need to get a domain name?
I would highly suggest you get your own domain name. Although you get a free subdomain on Weebly, getting your own domain is the professional thing to do. You can get a domain through any registrar, but I would suggest doing it through Weebly even though it costs a little more than other registrars. Why? Simply because it's so simple. Once you register your domain through Weebly, your whole site is updated and set up for you with the new name. If you register through another provider it could take  hours to figure out how to configure it to your site if you are not technically inclined. 

It's free, but is it any good?
It is, actually. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's crappy. Think Gmail, MSN Messenger, Craigslist, Facebook, Flikr, Twitter. There are lots of free services on the net. I've tested out dozens of website builders over the years and even promoted a paid one that I thought was pretty great. I think this free one is even better than the paid one. This whole course is built with the same website builder. I'm putting my bytes where my mouth is.

I'm biased, but the best resource is this e-Marketing Course. Although it is written with massage professionals in mind, it is relevant to any business. It's one of the most comprehensive (and most fun) guides to developing a high ranking website that gets customers through your doors. How do I get my website ranked at the top of Google?
Excellent question. There are things you can do on your site to help your rankings and things you can do off your site to help. Get this e-Marketing Course for step-by-step instructions. Basically the ranking formula is this: Relevance + Backlinks = High Rankings. In terms of relevance the single best thing you can do to help your ranking is include words and phrases in your website that match what searchers are typing into Google. So you need to put yourself in a customer's shoes and ask, "If I was looking for a service like mine, what would I type into the Google search box?" For most services, it will be the name of the service  + the city name, for example, "massage Detroit" or "plumber in Reno". The more your domain name, headlines and text reflect those search terms, the more likely it is that Google will rank you highly. But don't overdo it. Use the phrase too often in your website and Google will consider your site search engine spam. Getting backlinks is even more important and this is requires a lot more information.
